CLIENT
Victorian Heart Hospital
Victorian Heart Hospital is Australia’s first specialist cardiac hospital, developed at Monash University’s Clayton campus in Melbourne’s southeast.
Mulgrave Insulation worked collaboratively with A.G. Coombs throughout the project to support delivery in line with programme requirements. Given the scale and complexity of the hospital build, Mulgrave adopted an off-site prefabrication approach to improve on-site productivity, reduce installation risk and maintain quality across the project’s mechanical services scope.
Prefabricated modules were insulated and clad off-site before being delivered for installation, including pipe risers, duct risers, pump skids and floor pipework. This approach helped streamline site installation and supported more efficient project delivery over the course of the build.
Mulgrave’s scope included approximately 35,000m² of duct insulation, more than 2,000m² of fire-rated insulation, and 25,000 linear metres of pipe insulation.
The project also aligned with broader efficiency and sustainability objectives, with Mulgrave contributing to the building’s energy-efficient heating and cooling systems and supporting the use of locally sourced materials to help reduce carbon impact.
